Instructor
This is an 8 hour course which is required by New York State as the first step in obtaining a security guard registration card from the New York State Department of State. The course provides the student with a general overview of the duties and responsibilities of a security guard.
Topics covered in this course include:
- Introduction
- The Role of The Security Guard
- Legal Powers and Limitations
- Emergency Situations
- Communications and Public Relations
- Access Control
- Ethics and Conduct
The passing of an examination is required for successful completion of this course.
NYS Mandated Training Refund Policy
Refunds will be given upon request according to the following procedures:
Eight Hour Courses
In the event a student has paid in advance for an eight (8) hour course of instruction and the student is unable to attend the course of instruction, the student is entitled to a 100% refund. If a student with withdraws from any eight (8) hour course of instruction after the start of the first four (4) hours of instruction, the student is entitled to a refund of 50%. If a student withdraws after the start of the second (4) hours of instruction, the student is not entitled to a refund but may, at the discretion of the School Director, receive a credit for the amount paid to be used upon rescheduling the course of instruction.
Sixteen Hour Course
In the event a student has paid in advance for a sixteen (16) hour course of instruction and the student is unable to attend the course of instruction, the student is entitled to a 100% refund. If a student withdraws from a sixteen (16) hour course of instruction withdraws after start of the first four (4) hours of instruction the student is entitled to a 75% refund. If a student withdraws after the start of the second four (4) hours of instruction the student is entitled to a 50% refund. If a student withdraws after the start of the third four (4) hours of instruction the student is entitled to a 25% refund. If a student withdraws after the start of the fourth four (4) hours of instruction, the student is not entitled to a refund but may, at the discretion of the School Director, receive a credit for the amount paid to be used upon rescheduling the course of instruction.
*A security guard training school cannot assess any non-refundable fees or deposits.
Process for Obtaining a Refund
 A request for refund must be made to the School Director in writing or in person. Once a request for refund has been received, the refund will be processed within five (5) business days in the form of cash, company check or credited back to the credit/debit card used as payment.
Attendance Policy
100% attendance is required to earn a certificate in any course of instruction. If a student is unable to make 100% attendance the student may, at the discretion of the School Director, be allowed to make-up the missed portion(s) of the course of instruction at another time the same course of instruction is being offered.
Complaint Procedure
If a student should have any complaint about Enterprise Security, Consulting and Training, its employees or business practices, the student should seek resolution by contacting the School Director, Owens F.
